BT LE Audio was announced in January 2020 at [[Consumer Electronics Show|CES]] by the [[Bluetooth Special Interest Group|Bluetooth SIG]]. Compared to regular Bluetooth Audio, Bluetooth Low Energy Audio makes lower battery consumption possible and creates a standardized way of transmitting audio over BT LE.
