The ExoMars [[Trace Gas Orbiter]] is an atmospheric research orbiter built in collaboration between ESA and Roscosmos. It was injected into Mars orbit on 19 October 2016 to gain a better understanding of [[Methane on Mars|methane]] ({{chem|C|H|4}}) and other trace gases present in the Martian atmosphere that could be evidence for possible biological or geological activity.
