In 2021, the [[New York City Department of Transportation|Department of Transportation]] and Citi Bike announced that, as part of its Phase 3 expansion, it was doubling its service area to 70 square miles and tripling the number of bikes to 40,000. The expansion includes 52 new docking stations in Astoria, as well as new stations in Sunnyside and Woodside.<ref name="Astoria-Post 2021 Jan 15" /> Non-docked e-[[moped]] service was launched in the city by [[Revel Transit|Revel]] in 2019.
