== Commercial product == Ownership of the sonic screwdriver was retained by the BBC. [[Victor Pemberton]] told an interviewer for ''[[Doctor Who Magazine]]'', "I'm very cross that the sonic screwdriver—which I invented—has been marketed with no credit to myself. … It's one thing not to receive any payment, but another not to receive any credit."<ref>{{cite journal| first=Benjamin| last=Cook| title=Friend of the Earth:-)| journal=[[Doctor Who Magazine]]| issue=318| pages=10–14| date=26 June 2002}}</ref> The toy version of the new series design (made by Character Options Ltd.) was slightly larger than the on screen version to accommodate a working sound chip. It also includes an ultraviolet [[Flashlight|light]] and changeable invisible ink nib for viewing messages written in the ultraviolet ink.
