===Sports venue=== There are several large sports venue in the city. The largest of which would be the [[Darul Aman Stadium]], opened in 1962 it can accommodate 30,000 [[seating capacity]].<ref>{{cite web |title=Stadium Darul Aman|url=https://www.stadiumkedah.gov.my/portfolio/stadium-darul-aman/|website=Stadium Kedah}}</ref> The stadium also has hosted the [[2006 Sukma Games]]. It was one of the venues for the [[1997 FIFA World Youth Championship]]. Other major sports venues in the city includes Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium, Kedah Aquatic Centre, Muadzam Shah Complex and MBAS Swimming Pool Complex.{{citation needed|date=April 2024}}
