====Iran==== {{Main|Iranian identity card}} Every citizen of Iran has an identification document called [[Shenasnameh]] ([[Iranian identity booklet]]) in [[Persian language|Persian]] (شناسنامه). This is a booklet based on the citizen's birth certificate which features their Shenasnameh National ID number, [[given name]], [[surname]], their birth date, their birthplace, and the names, birth dates and National ID numbers of their legal ascendants.
