===Deaf and hard-of-hearing people===

The major language spoken by the deaf and hard-of-hearing in Israel is [[Israeli Sign Language]] (also called Shassi)–a language related to [[German Sign Language]] but not Hebrew or any other local language–though Israel and Palestine are home to numerous sign languages spoken by various populations like Bedouins' [[Al-Sayyid Bedouin Sign Language]].
