Between May and July huge numbers of [[sardine]]s spawn in the cool waters of the [[Agulhas Bank]] and then follow a current of cold water northward along the east coast of South Africa. This great migration, called the [[sardine run]], creates spectacular feeding frenzies along the coastline as marine predators, such as dolphins, sharks and gannets attack the schools.
