=== Japan === In Japan, cheques are called {{Nihongo|'''kogitte'''|[[:ja:ε°εζ|ε°εζ]]}}, and are governed by {{ill|kogitte law|ja|ε°εζζ³|vertical-align=sup}}. Bounced cheques are called {{Nihongo|Fuwatari Kogitte|{{ill|δΈζΈ‘γ|ja|δΈζΈ‘γ|vertical-align=sup}}ε°εζ}}. If an account owner bounces two cheques in six months, the bank will suspend the account for two years. If the account belongs to a public company, their stock will also be suspended from trading on the stock exchange, which can lead to bankruptcy.
