They are several Church of England and Roman Catholic churches in the town. St Hilda's Church is a notable church of the town, it was built on [[Hartlepool Abbey]] and sits upon a high point of the Headland. The churches of the Church of England's St Paul and Roman Catholic's St Joseph are next to each other on St Paul's Road. [[Nasir Mosque]] on Brougham Terrace is the sole ''purpose-built'' mosque in the town.
