The main road network within and around Marrakesh is well paved. The major highway connecting Marrakesh with Casablanca to the north is the A7, a toll expressway, {{convert|210|km|abbr=on}} in length. The road from Marrakesh to [[Settat]], a {{convert|146|km|abbr=on}} stretch, was inaugurated by [[King Mohammed VI]] in April 2007, completing the {{convert|558|km|abbr=on}} highway to Tangiers. Highway A7 connects also Marrakesh to [[Agadir]], {{convert|233|km|abbr=on}} to the south-west.<ref name="Group2007"/>
