A third region, the [[Brčko District]], was governed locally. Today, all three ethnic groups have an equal constitutional status over the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The country has a [[bicameral|bicameral legislature]] and a [[Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina|three-member presidency]] composed of one member of each major ethnic group.
