The Chinese software industry in 2010 had a higher than 15% share of the world's software and information service market and had been growing by an average 36% each year during the previous decade. Chinese IT companies have been moving away from narrow downstream services and products to having a full range. In 2017, there were more than 1.36 billion mobile subscribers in China, with the number of [[Landline|fixed line subscriptions]] hitting 310 million.
