There has been a proposal to develop Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) around [[MRT (Bangkok)|mass transit stations]] in Bangkok, as well as around high-speed rail stations in cities such as Ayutthaya, Khon Kaen, [[Makkasan station|Makkasan]], Pattaya, and Si Racha. In addition, there have been proposals for TOD around main regional railway stations. The TOD proposal aims to create walkable, mixed-use communities centered around transit stations, taking advantage of their convenient transportation access.
