==Bellwether Prize==
In 2000, Kingsolver established the [[Bellwether Prize|Bellwether Prize for Fiction]]. Named for the [[bellwether]], the literary prize supports writers whose works support positive social change.<ref name="Novel as Indictment" /> The award is given to a U.S. citizen for a previously unpublished work of fiction that addresses issues of social justice.
