=== Paleontology === In February 2021, researchers led by [[paleontologist]] Nicolás Chimento of the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales announced the discovery of a well-preserved fossilized skull of the giant ground sloth [[Megatherium]] near San Eduardo del Mar, Province of Buenos Aires.
