Challen founded the All Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change in 2005,<ref name="APPCCG">{{cite web|url=http://colinchallen.net/aboutus.aspx|title=About Colin Challen|accessdate=24 October 2010|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110723045535/http://colinchallen.net/aboutus.aspx|archivedate=23 July 2011}}</ref> and has written that he believes the "catastrophic destabilisation of global climate represents the greatest threat that humanity faces."<ref name="cflights" />
