Since the 1970s, there have been a number of proposals for a state-owned [[communications satellite]], called ''Zohreh'' (en:[[Venus]]) from 1993 onwards.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.tau.ac.il/jcss/sa/v8n3p2Shapir.html |title=Iran's Efforts to Conquer Space |author=Yiftah S.
