Uruk refuses to participate in the digging of wells for the benefit of [[Kish (Sumer)|Kish]], whose kingdom had the hegemony of Sumer. Its king [[Aga of Kish|Agga]] submits the city to a siege. Enkidu is sent to prepare the weapons and wait for Gilgamesh's order.
