===Medical physics===
The field of Health Physics is related to the field of [[medical physics]]<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.aapm.org/medical_physicist/fields.asp|title=American Association of Physicists in Medicine}}</ref> and they are similar to each other in that practitioners rely on much of the same fundamental science (i.e., radiation physics, biology, etc.) in both fields. Health physicists, however, focus on the evaluation and protection of human health from radiation, whereas medical health physicists and medical physicists support the use of radiation and other physics-based technologies by medical practitioners for the diagnosis and treatment of disease.<ref>[http://www.aapm.org/medical_physicist/default.asp AAPM – The Medical Physicist<!-- Bot generated title -->]</ref>
