The freeway continues northeastward on the southern side of the Yakima River, running along the bottom of the [[Horse Heaven Hills]]. Near Chandler Butte, the highway turns southeastward and intersects [[Washington State Route 224|SR 224]] and [[Washington State Route 225|SR 225]] on the southern side of [[Benton City, Washington|Benton City]].
