===Climate===
Lugo has a humid [[oceanic climate]] with drier summers, ''Cfb'' in the [[Köppen climate classification]] although it could also be classified as a mild [[Mediterranean climate]] (''Csb'') depending on favoured summer precipitation threshold. Due to its remoteness from the Atlantic, its annual precipitation of {{convert|1084|mm|in|1}} can be considered low compared with areas of the Rias Baixas and [[Santiago de Compostela]]. The highest temperature recorded in history, {{convert|39.6|C|F|0}}, occurred in August 1961 and the lowest temperature was {{convert|−13.2|C|F|1}} in February 1983.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.aemet.es/en/serviciosclimaticos/datosclimatologicos/efemerides_extremos?w=0&k=gal&l=1505&datos=det|title=Extreme temperature values for Lugo|publisher=Aemet.es|access-date=24 July 2015}}</ref> The city has an average of six days of snow per year, which is a contrast to coastal cities of Galicia which have not received snow in modern times.
