===20th century activities=== ====Nazi years==== In the years of the [[Nazi Germany|Nazi rule]], the company was led by Karl Emanuel Merck who became a member of the [[Nazi Party]] in 1933 and subsequently received the title of [[Wehrwirtschaftsführer]].
