==Administrative and municipal status==
Within the [[subdivisions of Russia#Administrative divisions|Russian system of administrative divisions]], it is, together with the [[urban-type settlement]] of [[Snezhnogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai|Snezhnogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory]], incorporated as the [[city of federal subject significance|district city]] of Norilsk—an administrative unit with a status equal to that of the [[administrative divisions of Krasnoyarsk Krai|districts]].<ref name="Ref66">Law #10-4765</ref> As a [[subdivisions of Russia#Municipal divisions|municipal division]], the district city of Norilsk is incorporated as the Norilsk Urban Okrug.<ref name="Ref763">Law #12-2697</ref>

Since 2005, the city of Norilsk has been divided into three geographically disparate administrative districts:

* [[Tsentralny District, Norilsk|Tsentralny District]] (including Oganer), with a population of 107,351
