[[David Langford]] reviewed ''Robots and Empire'' for ''[[White Dwarf (magazine)|White Dwarf]]'' #85, and stated that "Asimov always perks up when chopping logic with the Three Laws of Robotics, and here his robots come up with a Fourth, or rather Zeroth, Law. This works out approximately as 'the end justifies the means'.
