====Correct timing of intake====
Triptans should be taken as soon as possible after the onset of pain. In case of migraine with [[Aura (migraine)|aura]] they are to be taken after the aura and with the onset of pain.<ref name="AC" /> If taken too early, they may not have the full effect on symptom reduction, and in case of an aura, they can worsen the aura.
