== Official status == Tulu is not an official language of India or any other country. On 19 February 2020, Vedavyas Kamath who is a member of the [[Mangalore (Lok Sabha constituency)|Mangaluru (south) segment of the Legislative Assembly]], submitted a memorandum to chief minister B. S. Yediyurappa and to the minister for tourism, Kannada and culture, C. T.
