===New Zealand=== Legal deposit was initiated in 1903 in New Zealand, and currently requires that copies of all printed documents and offline electronic documents (e.g. DVDs) be sent to the [[National Library of New Zealand]] within 20 working days of publication. It also empowers the National Librarian to make copies of Internet documents including websites. If asked for assistance in making copies of their Internet documents, publishers must comply within 20 working days. This process is given legal force by Part 4 of the National Library of New Zealand (Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa) Act 2003,<ref>{{cite web|url=https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/2003/0019/latest/DLM192233.html|title=National Library of New Zealand (Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa) Act 2003, Part 4: Provision of copies of public documents to National Library|website=natlib.govt.nz|access-date=21 December 2022}}</ref> as well as three supporting requirements notices.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/2004/0129/latest/DLM257801.html|title=National Library Requirement (Books and Periodicals) Notice 2004|website=legislation.govt.nz|access-date=21 December 2022}}</ref><ref>{{cite web|url=https://legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/2006/0118/latest/DLM381515.html|title=National Library Requirement (Electronic Documents) Notice 2006|website=legislation.govt.nz|access-date=21 December 2022}}</ref><ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/2017/0180/latest/DLM7359360.html|title=National Library Requirement (Phonographic Documents) Notice 2017|website=legislation.govt.nz|access-date=21 December 2022}}</ref> If more than 100 copies are printed in total, two copies must be provided, otherwise one.
