==Etymology== The term ''myopia'' is of [[Koine Greek]] origin: {{lang|grc|μυωπία}} {{transliteration|grc|myōpia}} {{gloss|short-sight}} and {{lang|grc|μυωπίασις}} ({{transliteration|grc|myōpiasis}}) {{gloss|short-sight-ness}}.
