===Czech Republic=== According to the Czech Criminal Code, Article 184, defamation is a crime. Penalties may reach a maximum prison term of one year (Article 184β1) or, if the crime is committed through the press, film, radio, TV, publicly accessible computer network, or by "similarly effective" methods, the offender may stay in prison for up to two years or be prohibited of exercising a specific activity.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://business.center.cz/business/pravo/zakony/trestni-zakonik/cast2h2d2.aspx#par184 |title=Czech Criminal Code β Law No. 40/2009 Coll., Article 184 |publisher=Business.center.cz |access-date=2010-09-07}}</ref> However, only the most severe cases will be subject to criminal prosecution.
