== Xihoudu edit == I am new to editing in Wikipedia. I could not figure out how to correctly do a citation. Is there a simple explanation anywhere? I wanted to place the latest citation as number 19 in citation list. If you could take a look for me and make suggestion or correction I would appreciate it. The edit was the inclusion of the latest study with latest lithic dating for the site. Charlie Charlesvella (talk) 04:15, 31 May 2025 (UTC) :Hello, Charlesvella. Please read Referencing for beginners and Inline citation. Editors do not assign numbers to citations (often also called references). The mediawiki software does that automatically when a citation is formatted correctly. Cullen328 (talk) 07:05, 31 May 2025 (UTC) :Thank you for asking, Charlesvella. We have Help:Referencing for beginners without using templates, and Help:Referencing for beginners with citation templates. Choose one or other, try to follow it, and if you get stuck feel free to ask here for an explanation. -- Hoary (talk) 07:07, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
