====Welsh English====
A distinctive feature of [[Welsh English]] is the rising pitch on the last syllable of major words, imitating the rising pitch of word-final syllables in [[Welsh language|Welsh]] (see below). An important factor in the realisation of stress in both Welsh and Welsh English is the length of the post-stress consonant, which tends to be longer than the stressed vowel itself.<ref>Webb, Kelly (2011).
