* 15 February – A match between [[Republic of Ireland national football team|Ireland]] and [[England national football team|England]] was abandoned in the first half after some of the England fans ripped out seating in the West Stand of [[Lansdowne Road]] stadium and hurled it onto the pitch. Ireland had been leading 1–0 before the match was stopped.
