===2000 census=== As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 371 people, 156 households, and 111 families living in the village. The population density was {{convert|1,343.3|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 176 housing units at an average density of {{convert|637.3|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the village was 96.23% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 2.96% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], and 0.81% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.54% of the population. There were 156 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 26.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.83. In the village, the population was spread out, with 22.4% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 25.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 101.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.3 males. The median income for a household in the village was $33,125, and the median income for a family was $37,143. Males had a median income of $30,250 versus $24,375 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the village was $14,657. About 13.2% of families and 13.6% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 18.4% of those under age 18 and 23.3% of those age 65 or over.
