One of the earliest Buddhist apologetic texts is ''[[Milinda Panha|The Questions of King Milinda]]'', which deals with the Buddhist metaphysics such as [[anatta|the "no-self" nature of the individual]] and characteristics such as wisdom, perception, volition, feeling, consciousness and the soul.
