The Coens initially tailored roles for specific actors, such as [[James Gandolfini]] as Willie (since they had worked with him on ''[[The Man Who Wasn't There (2001 film)|The Man Who Wasn't There]]''), [[Danny Woodburn]] as Marcus, and [[Angus T.
