*[[netCDF]]-CF – netCDF file format with [[Climate and Forecast Metadata Conventions|CF medata conventions]] for earth science data. Binary storage in open format with optional compression. Allows for direct web-access of subsets/aggregations of maps through [[OPeNDAP]] protocol.
