| Rita has come over for a visit, but intends on travelling back to Liverpool for Christmas. In an effort to get to stay and help look after Else, he feigns a leg injury when he falls off a ladder. At the old folk's Christmas lunch at the Church, Alf continues this pretence. However, later on, his enthusiastic participation during the after dinner dancing, reveals his sprained leg was merely just a ruse.
