== Apprehension and suicide == In 1944 he joined the [[Wehrmacht]] for the remainder of the war. After the war ended, Eberl continued to practice medicine in [[Blaubeuren]]. He found himself a widower when his first wife died in July 1944. In October 1946 he married a second time. Eberl was arrested in January 1948.
