The [[population density]] was {{convert|543.7|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 296 housing units at an average density of {{convert|248.7|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 99.1% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.2% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.3% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.2% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 0.3% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.6% of the population.

There were 258 households, of which 24.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 40.3% were non-families. 33.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 19.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The racial makeup of the city was 99.41% [[white (U.S. Census)|white]], and 0.59% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.74% of the population.

There were 268 households, out of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.6% were non-families. 30.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.97.

In the city, the population was spread out, with 25.0% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 23.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
