Middleham is part of the [[Richmond and Northallerton (UK Parliament constituency)|Richmond and Northallerton]] parliamentary constituency. The current [[Member of Parliament (United Kingdom)|Member of Parliament]] is [[Rishi Sunak]], a [[Conservative Party (UK)|Conservative]], who is also a former [[Prime Minister of the United Kingdom]]. An [[Wards and electoral divisions of the United Kingdom|electoral ward]] of the name exists, stretching south-west to [[Melmerby in Coverdale]]. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the district of [[Richmondshire]], it is now administered by the unitary [[North Yorkshire Council]].
