After leaving South China, he featured in [[Gary Neville]]'s testimonial against [[Juventus FC|Juventus]] on 24 May 2011 in central midfield alongside [[Paul Scholes]], rekindling the old times in a midfield that also contained [[David Beckham]]. However, they lost the game to the Old Lady.
