[[Russian submarine K-525 Arkhangelsk|''K-525'']] was laid down in 1975 and [[Russian submarine K-206 Murmansk|''K-206'']] was laid down in 1979. After the construction of the first two submarines, production continued with the improved project 949A ''Antey''.
