The preferred natural [[habitat]] of ''P. seippi'' is [[forest]], at altitudes from sea level to {{convert|400|m|ft|abbr=on}}.<ref name="iucn status 19 November 2021" /> Seipp's day gecko is restricted to the native rainforests and avoids bright sun light. It lives on trees both in the forest and along its edges. It is largely dependent on bamboo forest, and habitat degradation is a major threat to this species.{{citation needed|date=April 2020}}
