== Bottom timer == [[File:Depth gauge.jpg|thumb|Bottom timer]]<!-- Crappy photo, but best I could find on Commons. Please replace with better if available. --> A bottom timer, or dive timer, is an electronic device that records the depth at specific time intervals during a dive, and displays current depth, maximum depth, elapsed time and may also display water temperature and average depth. It does not calculate decompression data at all, and is equivalent to gauge mode on many dive computers.
