On 29 August 2011, Days of Wonder announced the release of the first two volumes of a range of map expansions.<ref name="expansions-launch_dow_2011"/> The initial volume was entitled ''Volume 1: Asia – Team Asia and Legendary Asia'', and featured a double-sided map of both Asia and ''Legendary Asia''.
