==Bit counts== On WP:aotw, they have a list of past winners, with "Article Foo increased from X bits to Y bits". How do you get the count of bits? [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 20:14, 30 Jun 2004 (UTC) :Wikipedia:Article of the week/History shows increases in bytes for me. Given that en is using ISO 8859-1, byte count is equivalent to character count. It's not hard to count characters, but I don't know that there's a way to get Mediawiki to give you the count for an arbitrary article. They do show up on New pages, Short pages, and Long pages. -- Cyrius|β 20:37, 30 Jun 2004 (UTC) ::When I counted the bytes, I used wc (word count) which gives line, word and character count. I agree that a size display in the history would be interesting, but I accept that it's not top priority.
