Thailand generally uses the [[metric system]], but [[Thai units of measurement|traditional units of measurement]] for land area are used, and [[imperial units]] of measurement are occasionally used for building materials. Years are numbered as B.E. ([[Thai solar calendar|Buddhist Era]]) in educational settings, civil service, government, contracts, and newspaper datelines.
