== Tourism == Akaroa is a popular resort town. Many [[Hector's dolphin]]s can be found within the harbour, and in the area of the [[Akaroa Marine Reserve]] at the harbour entrance. In the summer of 2009β10, Akaroa was visited by seven cruise ships. This increased to ninety cruise ships in 2019 and 2020.
