==Release== ''Days of Future Passed'' was released on 17 November 1967<ref name="BirminghamEveningMail19671108" /><ref name="WidnesWeeklyNews19671110" /> in the UK (delayed from a 3 November 1967 announcement),<ref name=":3" /> and arrived in the US in March 1968.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=sQoEAAAAMBAJ&q=moody+blues|title=Billboard|date=March 23, 1968}}</ref> It reached number 27 in the [[UK Albums Chart]].<ref name="UK chart">{{cite web |url=http://www.officialcharts.com/artist/11532/moody-blues/ |title=Moody Blues <nowiki>| Full Official Chart History |</nowiki> Official Charts Company |website=[[Official Charts Company|Official Charts]] |access-date=12 June 2016}}</ref> In the US, it was a steady seller in the late 1960s, helped by [[FM radio]] play of "Nights in White Satin", and eventually peaked at number 2 on the US [[Billboard charts|''Billboard'' chart]] in 1972.<ref name=ucr/><ref name="US chart">{{cite magazine |url=http://www.billboard.com/artist/300750/the-moody-blues/chart?f=305 |title=The Moody Blues β Chart History <nowiki>|</nowiki> Billboard |magazine=[[Billboard (magazine)|Billboard]] |access-date=12 June 2016}}</ref> The U.S. mono version (Deram DE-16012) was pressed in a limited quantity as it was released during the "phase-out" of mono LP releases by the major record companies, thus it is an often-sought item amongst record collectors. ''Days of Future Passed'' was issued as a discrete [[Quadraphonic]] open-reel tape in 1977. This master was also used for a 2001 dts 5.1 channel audio CD release and again for a two-disc Deluxe Edition [[Super Audio CD|SACD]] release in 2006. On 17 November 2017 this original mix was made available for the first time on CD as ''Days of Future Passed 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition''.<ref name="2017 Deluxe Edition">{{cite web|title=The Moody Blues Days of Future Passed 50TH Anniversary Deluxe Edition|url=http://www.moodybluestoday.com/moody-blues-days-future-passed-50th-anniversary-deluxe-edition/|website=The Moody Blues|date=5 October 2017|access-date=30 December 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20171230205812/http://www.moodybluestoday.com/moody-blues-days-future-passed-50th-anniversary-deluxe-edition/|archive-date=30 December 2017|url-status=live}}</ref> Also released ''The Moody Blues Days of Future Past Live'' that was recorded live in Toronto on 13 July 2017 with a full orchestra backup.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.themoodybluestoday.com/days-future-past-live|title=Days of Future Past Live|date=March 1, 2018|access-date=January 1, 2020}}</ref>
